The central prayer of Judaism asks us to listen, to hear. In this painting, the Shema is broadcast across the heavens over and over, continuously. The large bright letter Hey signifies the name of God, and within that letter is one iteration of the prayer: Hear, O you nation of Israel, you God-wrestlers,  the Lord our God is One, unique!
