East of Eden
East of Eden
This image was a commission for a person who claimed that her experience of the Divine occurred when she was planting a bunch of pansies, rather than when she was in a formal house of worship. Since it was painted many years ago, I have come to see that it involves the entire Earth-Human life cycle: The creation of Adam, the first human with God’s breath of life, from the Earth; the Earth giving us sustenance, and when we have completed our work here, the return of our husk, our bodies, back to the Earth.
A giclee reproduction of this painting is available in various sizes, with and without hand gold embellishment for various prices.
