Embracing the Journey: Communities in Stone

  • JCCSF 3200 California Street San Francisco, CA, 94118 United States (map)

Why do we leave stones at the grave when we visit? What does the symbolism on the head stone signify? And why even have a headstone? Come spend an hour with Rabbi Me’irah at the JCCSF’s annual “Embracing the Journey End of Life Resources Fair” to find the reasoning behind these age old Jewish traditions, and perhaps, think about what you might want your own memorial in stone to say.

The event is free and open to the public, and lasts from 9:15 AM-5:00 PM with many additional presentations! Rabbi Meirah will also lead a meditation, “Imagining Your Own Death,” beginning at 9:15.
