I will be giving a presentation on my artwork at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco on Wednesday, October 10, 1:00-2:00 PM. (parking available on site) In addition to the slide show, there will be some samples of original work.
What makes an artist pick up a brush and paint? And when they do so, how does a style come about? These paintings are influenced from a lifetime of exposure to medieval illuminated manuscripts, 19th C fairytale illustration, Turkish embroideries, Indian prints, Indonesian batiks, and botanical illustration. They come together for a purpose: to invite the viewer into a visual experience of sacred texts.
